Meet the Man Who Lost Weight by Eating Pizza Every Day

Eating pizza might help you lose weight, claims an NYC chef who managed to lose a 100 pounds by eating pizza for lunch every single day. So, does this mean that pizza suddenly became better for the health?

Is pizza healthier than salad?

Well, chef Cozzolino said that you couldn’t eat an extra-large sausage, cheese, or pepperoni pizza from your local restaurant and expect to lose weight.

In fact, to obtain these results, you have to use the freshest ingredients you can find.

This way, you can control your carbs, sodium, and fat intake. To do this, chef Cozzolino made a very simple, yet incredibly tasty pizza Margherita for lunch.

What Makes His Pizza Different?

He says that his pizza comes from the Mediterranean diet.

Also, he only uses fresh and natural ingredients that make the pizza contain 570 calories. In the crusts there are only four ingredients:

  • flour
  • yeast
  • sea salt
  • water

The chef never snacked on carbs in the evening to be able to lose the weight and have more energy to play with his son.

Cozzolino’s Story

Cozzolino is a master chef from Italy. But, after moving to Amerika and living here for years, his weight, on a 6’6’ frame, dramatically increased to a shocking 370 pounds.

He says he discovered Oreo, fried foods, and soda that became like an addiction to him.

He also stated that he couldn’t recognize himself anymore. He was so heavy, he couldn’t even play with his son at the park.

But, soon after his doctor warned him of a heart attack, he knew he had to make a change.

So, that is the moment where Cozzolino knew he had to make some life-changing decisions.

That is when the chef turned towards what he knew best – food. He focused on a Mediterranean diet, and in Italy, pasta and pizza are a staple.

So, the chef created a diet that can make him happy and healthy at the same time.

One of the meals he included in his diet was a pizza Margherita. The key to his weight loss are fresh ingredients.

He says, to choose the right ingredients, he reads the labels. If he sees more than 10 ingredients in the labels, he chooses a different one.

Also, his pizza is not greasy nor does it contain a lot of calories.

He cut down to 2700 calories a day, and the pizza he makes has less than 600 calories.

That means he has about 2100 calories left to enjoy other meals.

But, at night, he doesn’t even touch carbs.

In the end, he managed to lose 101 lbs in a period of 7 months.

The chef also said that now he feels healthier than ever. His energy is better, and everything is better.
